Where are the camp locations and dates?

Please click on the Locations tab at the top of this website to access detailed information for camps in each specific city.

When is drop-off and pick-up?

Standard drop-off is at 9:00 AM, and pick-up is at 4:00 PM. Before and aftercare are available at select locations for an additional fee, subject to availability. Please contact the Camp Manager to confirm if these services are offered at your location. To ensure the best learning experience, we encourage all students to arrive by 9:00 AM, allowing instructors to fully implement the curriculum. If early pick-up is needed, please inform your instructor during drop-off so they can ensure your child completes their scheduled activities.

Are there age requirements?

Our camp is designed for children aged 6 to 11, allowing us to tailor learning materials and activities to meet the unique needs of each age group effectively.

Do you provide meals?

Atomic Adventures aims to simplify life for parents by offering a well-balanced meal option for our campers. For an additional cost, parents can choose to opt into our daily meal service, which is delivered directly to our facilities, providing a convenient time-saving solution. During registration, simply indicate if your child will participate in the catering service, and we’ll ensure they enjoy a well-balanced meal during their time at camp. Please visit our meal plan page for further details.

Will my child be going outside during camp?

Research shows that fresh air helps rejuvenate children’s brains, which is why Atomic Adventures incorporates 2–3 outdoor breaks daily. These 20–30 minute “brain breaks” provide kids with fresh air and sunshine, helping them realign, reengage, and prepare for the next activity while giving teachers time to transition between lessons. Please ensure your child arrives at camp each day with sunscreen already applied and a labeled, non-aerosol sunscreen in their backpack for reapplication if needed.

Late Pick-Up Policy

We understand that life happens, but it’s important to respect that our teachers also have families to return to after work. To ensure fairness and consistency, we have a two-strikes policy for late pick-ups:

  • First Occurrence: Grace will be extended, but a $35 late fee will be charged to the card on file.
  • Second Occurrence: Our Operations team will contact you to discuss next steps, which may include the disenrollment process.

While we understand this policy may feel strict, it’s essential to ensure children feel secure knowing someone will be there to pick them up on time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in supporting our staff and creating a stable environment for all campers.

Can I switch camps after registration?

Camp Details

Are there requirements for bringing items to camp each day?

We ask that all campers arrive by 9:00 AM with breakfast already consumed to ensure they are ready for optimal learning from the start of the day. Each camper will receive an Atomic Adventures T-shirt, which we encourage them to wear throughout camp. Additionally, please send your child with a backpack containing a labeled bottle of sunscreen and a filled water bottle to ensure hydration. Campers should also bring a nutritious lunch and two snacks, as we take frequent brain and energy breaks to support focus and learning throughout the day.

Will my child come home with items they received from Atomic Adventures?

Throughout the week, your child will bring home creations they’ve made at Atomic Adventures. These tangible items are a great way for your child to share their learning experiences with you. It’s not only a fun part of the process but also incredibly beneficial for children to explain what they’ve been doing, reinforcing their understanding and pride in their accomplishments.

Policies

What is the refund policy?

Full Refund Eligibility:

First Camp Guarantee: If it is a child’s first camp and they are not satisfied after the first day, a full refund is available if requested before the start of the second day.

Advance Cancellation:  Full refunds are available for cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the camp’s start date.  Alternately, a camp swap can be arranged, subject to availability.

Partial Refund (50%):

For cancellation made between 7 days and 48 hours before the camp start date, a partial refund of 50% is granted.  A free camp swap option is also available, recognizing unexpected changes in plans.

No Refund:

No refunds or swaps will be provided for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the camp start date.  At this late stage, resources and staffing are already allocated, making it difficult to accommodate changes.  This policy aims to be fair to both the families and the camp, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that camp preparations are effectively managed.

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds due to extreme weather conditions.  While we understand that weather can be unpredictable, our policy ensures that we can continue to offer high-quality programs and experiences for all participants.

What steps does the camp take to ensure the health and safety of children?

Before the summer season begins, our team of educators undergoes comprehensive training. This training focuses on effective curriculum implementation, as well as strategies for behavior management, health and safety protocols, proper cleaning practices to maintain a healthy environment, and ensuring head count safety at all times. We are committed to providing a safe, structured, and engaging environment for every camper.

What if my child has special care needs?

We are committed to accessibility and will work to accommodate learning, mobility, or allergy-related needs. Please contact us at (281) 844-1552 before registering for camp to discuss your child’s specific needs, so we can make the necessary accommodations.

Are kids on screens all day?

No! We are a screen free camp.  Leave those tablets at home!

Are there behavior expectations?

To ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all, we expect students to behave in the same respectful manner they would at school. This includes using kind language, keeping hands and feet to themselves, and refraining from name-calling or bullying. If a student struggles with redirection, the lead instructor will contact the parent to address the behavior. If the behavior continues, the child may need to be picked up, and our operations team will reach out to the family to discuss next steps.

If I have a concern who do I contact?

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact our operations team at (281) 844-1552. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you’re unable to reach a team member, please leave a message, and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
